The event will be followed by a series of events and activations as part of the new Earthshot Week which starts on Monday 6 November. Global leaders, businesses and investors will convene in Singapore to explore exciting opportunities with the Winners and Finalists aimed at accelerating their solutions and bringing about tangible action on the ground to repair our planet.

This is the third time the award show has been held outside of the United States and the first time that it will be accompanied by a series of special events comprising Earthshot Week. The award ceremony will be held at the Singapore Expo Convention Centre and is free to attend for members of the public.

Unlike other countries that have strict gambling regulations, Singapore allows you to conduct prize promotions or competitions, as long as they are not intended to provoke in participants a psychological pressure to buy the promoted product(s) or service(s). Prize promotion or contest is a way to promote and market your products and services and it may also be used to raise brand awareness.

For the most innovative ideas and breakthroughs, a special jury of industry experts will select and award the best entries. The winner will be given a chance to present their ideas and projects at TEDxSingapore. The winners of this year’s Singapore Prize will be announced on 23 May 2020.

Singapore Pools first launched the Singapore Sweep game in 1969 to help fund the construction of the National Stadium, with a minimum of $20 million contributed over a few years. Originally a pre-printed lottery ticket, in 1998 it was relaunched with a new prize structure that raised the Premium Prize to a minimum of $200,000. In 2018, traditional pre-printed tickets were replaced by on-demand printing within Singapore Pools outlets. Today, there is a one-in-eleven chance of winning a prize in the Singapore Sweep draw. The prizes include cash and goods, such as electronics, home furnishings and sports equipment. The winners can also use the prizes to purchase new homes or cars. The Singapore Literature Prize is awarded biennially for outstanding published works by Singapore authors in Chinese, English, Malay and Tamil. The prize money is a significant incentive for authors and the winner will be honoured at a ceremony. The winning author will be able to take home a cash prize of up to $40,000 in addition to a trophy.
